Sioux Falls Police Warn of Scams Using Officers’ Names

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Police in Sioux Falls are warning residents of a new scam that uses officers’ actual names to trick would-be victims. According to police, scammers will call someone and use an actual police officer’s name with a threat to arrest them if they don’t pay a fine. Sioux Falls police say they never call anyone threatening them with a warrant if they do not pay with a prepaid card or debit card over the phone.
