Twins Bullpen Falters Again

(Cleveland, OH) — The Minnesota Twins were walked off for the second straight day during a 5-3 loss to the Cleveland Guardians at Progressive Field. Tyler Thornburg gave up a two-run walk-off home run to Andres Gimenez in the bottom of the ninth after allowing the Guardians to score two runs to tie the game in the eighth. Thornburg was tagged with his first loss of the season. Jose Miranda drove in three runs in the losing effort. The Twins have lost to the Guardians five times in the last two weeks despite having a lead in the eighth inning or later in all contests. Minnesota leads Cleveland by just one game in the AL Central race with a 43-and-36 record. The Twins turn to Joe Ryan when they take on the Orioles at home tonight.
