Knife River Makes Offer On Lyon Fairgrounds

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Knife River Sioux Falls is making an offer on Minnehaha County’s W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. A Minnehaha County Commission task force is being asked to consider the option of making the space a quarry. Knife River is located next to the fairgrounds and officials there believe the area has a “large deposit of high-quality construction aggregates.” County officials say the company has been interested in the space for years and has finally made a written offer of 65 million dollars.
