Longtime Spokeswoman For Late ND Attorney General Resigns

(Bismarck, ND) — The longtime spokeswoman for late North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem is leaving the office. Liz Brocker has resigned following revelations that she directed Stenehjem’s state email account to be deleted the day after his death. An email written by Brocker shows the effort was a way to head off any open records requests. Current Attorney General Drew Wrigley says he doesn’t believe Brocker committed any crime in connection with the deletion of the account. North Dakota Newspaper Association attorney Jack McDonald says the situation isn’t good, but that he doesn’t think Brocker was trying to hide “some vital state secret.” Stenehjem died January 28th.
