(Sioux Falls, SD) — The Sioux Falls City Council is moving forward with a plan to make Sioux Area Metro buses free for kids and eligible students. The council gave the go-ahead to an ordinance last night that would give free Metro rides to kids ages ten and under and students between eleven and 18 with a student ID or SAM Freedom Pass. Mayor Paul TenHaken sponsored the measure. Director of Planning and Development Jeff Eckhoff said at the meeting that kids should be able to get to school and after-school activities without barriers.
