Judges Dismiss Lawsuit Against Noem

(Sioux Falls, SD) — A panel of judges is dismissing a lawsuit against Governor Kristi Noem. The American Civil Liberties Union and Planned Parenthood sued Noem in January of a then-proposed rule that would restrict the use of abortion medication. The rule is now a law that requires patients to visit a licensed abortion provider three times before receiving medication needed to end a pregnancy. A previous law only required two visits. An appeal of the lawsuit by Noem was dismissed yesterday for lack of jurisdiction.
