(Sioux Falls, SD) — A Sioux Falls soldier is severely injured after a boogie boarding accident on his Hawaiian honeymoon. Joe and Kaelene Tappe recently traveled to Maui, Hawaii, and tried the sport. Joe crashed into the shoreline headfirst on the third day of the vacation, landing in the hospital. Kaelene says he fractured his neck, nearly drowning, and narrowly avoided being paralyzed.
