Man Facing Half-Year Sentence In Standing Rock Embezzlement Case

(Wakpala, SD) — A man is facing a six-month federal prison sentence in connection with a Standing Rock Sioux Tribe embezzlement case. Prosecutors say 39-year-old Joshua Iron Cloud Senior will also have to serve three years of supervised release, pay nearly 24 thousand in restitution to the tribe, and a fine to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Iron Cloud pled guilty in April to embezzling and stealing from the Oyate Community Development Corporation of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe. Officials say he took 25 thousand dollars in money, funds, and credit and used it on personal items and expenses.
