(Pierre, SD) — Crash deaths in South Dakota are down from the same point of the year in 2021. State officials say 53 people have died in crashes in the state so far this year, down from 77 as of mid-July 2021. Total crash deaths have fallen across most categories, but have risen in ATV/UTV and bike crashes. ATV/UTV crash deaths have doubled from last year to two. There have been two bicycle deaths, while there were none in 2021.
