Redfield Day Care Provider To Serve Probation For Child Abuse Charge

(Redfield, SD) — A Redfield day care provider is set to serve five years probation after pleading guilty to child abuse. Court records say 41-year-old Heather Roach was charged with hitting a one-year-old in the face in December 2020. She was sentenced to five years in prison, with all but 120 days suspended. She will also have to pay just over a thousand dollars in fines and penalties. Roach had been providing home day care and was not licensed by the state.
