Vikings TE Smith Has Surgery

(Eagan, MN) — Irv Smith Jr. has suffered a training camp injury for the second season in a row. The Minnesota Vikings announced that the tight ends had thumb surgery yesterday. Head coach Kevin O’Connell says that Smith should be ready to go for the Vikings’ regular season opener in September. Smith missed the 2021 season after having knee surgery last summer. The Vikings continue training camp today.
