Twins Silence Tigers To Take Series

(Minneapolis, MN) — Joe Ryan was nearly unhittable in the Minnesota Twins’ 4-1 win over the Detroit Tigers at Target Field. Ryan struck out nine batters and gave up just one run in five innings of work to earn his eighth win of the season. Sandy Leon had two hits and two RBI in his Twins debut, while Jorge Lopez picked up his 20th save of the season and his first with Minnesota. The Twins remain one game ahead of Cleveland in the race for the AL Central with a 55-and-49 record. Sonny Gray starts for Minnesota against the Blue Jays tonight.
