(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins surrendered six runs in the eighth innings of their 9-3 loss to the Blue Jays at Target Field. Sonny Gray kept the Jays in check through five innings before Emilio Pagan blew a one-run lead in the sixth. Pagan was charged with his fifth loss and seventh blown save of the season. Jake Cave hit his first home run in the losing effort. The Twins remain one game ahead of the Guardians for first place in the AL Central. Tyler Mahle makes his Twins debut against Toronto tonight. In other team news, reliever Jorge Alcala will miss the rest of the season after having elbow surgery earlier this week.
