(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota is putting in its two cents on a lawsuit challenging the resumption of oil and gas leases on federal lands. A federal judge is allowing the state to intervene in the lawsuit brought by environmental groups, who say the sales harm the world’s climate. The state contends that the sales are important to North Dakota’s economy. President Biden halted oil and gas lease sales in January 2021 before announcing in April that sales would resume.
