(Grand Forks, ND) — Grand Forks police say no remains were found after a yard that was excavated this week in connection with a 1996 missing person case. Investigators announced yesterday that the effort at a home in the one-thousand block of First Avenue North was related to the investigation involving the disappearance of Kristi Nikle. Authorities say they received information that Nickle’s body may have been buried near the foundation of the home when it was built. Cadaver dogs were deployed at the site and showed positive indicators of human remains, leading to the search.
