(McLean County, ND) — The National Weather Service is rating three confirmed tornadoes that touched down in McLean County Monday evening. The first tornado was on the ground for about a minute, was rated an EF-Unknown, and didn’t impact any structures. The second twister snapped trees and destroyed an animal shelter during its 25-minute journey on the ground, and was rated an EF-1. The third tornado destroyed three small wooden granaries, flipped over farm equipment and fertilizer tanks, and tossed hay bales during its 20 minutes on the ground. It was rated an EF-2 with wind speeds estimated at around 120 miles per hour.
