(Eagan, MN) — The Vikings may have finally found a suitable backup quarterback. The team traded a conditional 2024 seventh-round draft pick to the Raiders in exchange for quarterback Nick Mullens. The move comes after quarterbacks Sean Mannion and Kellen Mond each struggled in Minnesota’s preseason loss to the 49ers on Saturday. Mullens is entering his fifth season in the NFL. In other team news, the Vikings terminated wide receiver Albert Wilson’s contract and waived defensive lineman Jullian Taylor.
