(Bismarck, ND) — A Bismarck woman is facing probation in connection with the death of a five-year-old boy. Serenity Foots pleaded guilty yesterday to the deprivation of a minor. A felony charge was dismissed. Prosecutors say the 19-year-old “had taken on a disciplinary/caring role for the child” as directed by her mother and failed to get Geremy Doyle adequate nutrition or medical care. Doyle’s death was caused by battered child syndrome.
