ND Heat Continues Into September, Drought Conditions May Worsen

(Bismarck, ND) — The extreme heat in western North Dakota is continuing into September. Scorching temperatures as much as 15 degrees above normal are expected to hit Thursday and continue into the weekend. The latest U.S. Drought Monitor map shows nearly 30 percent of the state as being abnormally dry or in moderate drought. The National Weather Service is forecasting little rain, which could worsen dry conditions when combined with expected high temperatures.
