(Bismarck, ND) — Attorneys are arguing about the final disposition of Chad Isaak’s conviction for quadruple murder following his suicide. Isaak died by suicide a month after seeking a new trial and was in the middle of the appeals process. Attorneys disagree on whether the North Dakota Supreme Court can or should dismiss the verdicts because Isaak is unable to complete the appeals process. A jury in August 2021 convicted Isaak of four counts of murder and other charges in the deaths of the RJR Maintenance and Management co-owner and three employees.
