Twins Get Swept In Doubleheader

(Bronx, NY) — The Twins lost both games of their doubleheader against the Yankees in New York. In the first game, the Twins lost 5-4 in 12 innings due to a walk-off single from Oswaldo Cabrera. Trevor Megill was charged with his third loss. Jose Miranda launched his 14th home run in the losing effort. In game two, Minnesota couldn’t handle Gerrit Cole in a 7-1 loss. Carlos Correa hit his 17th home run, and Joe Ryan fell to 10-and-8 after giving up four runs in four innings. Minnesota is two games behind Cleveland for first place in the AL Central with a 68-and-67 record. Sonny Gray starts for Minnesota against New York tonight.
