Gianforte Plans Business Equipment Tax Cut

(Kalispell, MT) — Governor Greg Gianforte is aiming to cut taxes for farmers, ranchers, and small businesses. During a stop in Kalispell on Wednesday, Gianforte said he plans to have the Legislature reform the business equipment tax in next year’s session. He laid out his plan outside RDO Equipment, saying the current tax is a disincentive to invest in farm and construction equipment. Gianforte wants to raise the exemption for personal property taxes from the current 100-thousand to 300-thousand dollars.
