(Bismarck, ND) — Bismarck and Burleigh County Commissioners are hoping to improve their communication after a tax collection mistake left library funding short of its goal. Officials say a mill levy miscalculation by the county left the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library 42-thousand dollars short on its 2022 budget. Commissioners say county general fund money can’t be used to replace city funding because county money wasn’t allocated to the library. The county commission hasn’t taken any formal action on the issue.
