(Hennepin County, MN) — Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman is initiating a policy aimed at assisting women who face arrest in other states for abortion services received in Minnesota. Freeman announced yesterday that he will seek immediate hearings for those jailed on out-of-state warrants for obtaining or providing abortion services. He says the law requires Hennepin County sheriffs to arrest those wanted by other states, but that his office will insist on quick appearances and will not ask for bail. Abortion is legal in Minnesota.
