(Burleigh County, ND) — A state audit is revealing issues with how Burleigh County handled federal coronavirus aid last year. The audit lists ten findings, mostly related to reporting and purchasing requirements for using funds that were part of the American Rescue Plan Act. The county spent about 976-thousand dollars of the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds program money. The county was cited for using money to cover expenses incurred before the funds could be applied and for not having adequate supporting documentation for some transactions.
