(Helena, MT) — With higher energy rates and inflation driving up the cost of everything else, the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is offering help to low-income Montanans. The Low-Income Housing Energy Assistance Program operates from October through April every year. People who receive benefits from the SNAP federal food aid program and other assistance programs qualify automatically. Applications are now open online at the Montana DPHHS website and at local HRDC offices.
