Update 10:52am: Police investigating this as a domestic violence related incident involving a firearm.
(Grand Forks, ND) — A Wednesday morning shooting in Grand Forks has left one dead and one injured.
Grand Forks police say around 10:40am on Wednesday morning, they responded to a call of shots fired in the 300 block of Wren Dr. Upon arrival, officers found one male subject lying dead in the driveway. The officers immediately searched the home and found a second female subject injured with a gunshot wound.
The female subject was taken to Altru hospital and her current status remains unknown.
This event is being investigated as a domestic violence related incident involving a firearm. The nature of the relationship between the male and female is mother and son.
The mother is identified as Jennifer Jean Harrison, 53 years old, of Grand Forks. The son is identified as Tyler Christopher Harrison, 21 years old, of Grand Forks.
Tyler Harrison had what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head and was deceased upon officers’ arrival. Jennifer Harrison had what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to her torso and head.
The involved parties were known to each other and lived together at the residence in Grand Forks. There is no known danger to the public at large and no other persons of interest are being sought currently.
