(Menlo Park, CA) — Facebook’s parent company Meta is laying off more than eleven-thousand employees. CEO Mark Zuckerberg told employees this morning that he made bad decisions when it came to investments and betting on the future of e-commerce and takes full responsibility for that. In a call with executives yesterday Zuckerberg said the focus next year is on “a small number of high priority growth areas.” The employees will reportedly receive four months salary as severance, plus two weeks for every year they’ve been with the company.
