Stock Up For Bad Weather; Major Winter Storm on the Way

(Bismarck, ND) — Significant snow is forecast to blanket much of the region as the first big winter storm is expected tonight and through tomorrow. Areas along the northern border or North Dakota are expecting four to six inches of snowfall with the rest of North Dakota and much of South Dakota preparing for anywhere from six inches to over a foot of snow.

Strong winds may create blizzard conditions in some areas and snowfall rates could exceed an inch an hour. Blizzard Warnings are already issued for north central South Dakota and south central North Dakota with Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories issued for much of the rest of the region.

Stay tuned to the latest forecast if you have travel plans.

After the storm departs, much colder air will remain over the area with high temperatures only climbing into the teens over most of the state this weekend.
