Another High-Rise Tower is Being Proposed for Downtown Des Moines

(Des Moines, IA) — A new 33-story high rise apartment building is being proposed for downtown Des Moines. It would be located about a block off the Court Avenue District at Walnut and 5th Avenue. Developer Turrim LLC of Waukee is proposing a 360-unit multi-family tower, with commercial and retail on the first floor.

The Des Moines City Council will consider a tax increment financing plan for the development at the Council meeting tonight. The high-rise would be build on the vacant east half of the Kaleidoscope Mall, an area deemed blighted and qualified for Urban Renewal.

If approved, construction would start next year and be completed in late 2025.
