Gov. Noem Appoints New DOH Secretary

(Pierre, SD) — A new Department of Health Secretary will take office on Tuesday. Governor Kristi Noem appointed Melissa Magstadt to the position yesterday. Magstadt will replace former DOH Secretary Joan Adam after she retired this week. Noem has two other cabinet positions she needs to fill. The Secretary of the Department of Social Services and the Secretary of the Department of Education positions will need to be filled before the start of legislative session on January 10th.
