(Pierre, SD) — Seven people will serve out the rest of their sentences on parole thanks to Governor Kristi Noem. On Christmas Eve, Noem granted seven commutations for inmates of the South Dakota Department of Corrections. Their parole will include precautions such as electric monitoring. Noem said, “These seven individuals have each earned a second chance.” The state said each of the seven individuals “has followed rules and policies” since their incarceration.
