Snowmobile Club Proposing Controversial Expansion Within Grand Forks Greenway

(Grand Forks, ND) — The Red River Snowmobile Club is proposing a controversial access expansion within the Grand Forks Greenway. Tense debate is underway after the club requested adding over seven miles along the Greenway from DeMers Avenue to 62nd Avenue South. The new trail would replace a route along 42nd Street that has been deemed no longer safe for snowmobile traffic. The only part of the Grand Forks Greenway currently open to snowmobilers is a stretch from Riverside Dam to just north of DeMers Avenue.
