Nonprofit Holds Heater Drive For Pine Ridge Reservation

(Pine Ridge Reservation, SD) — A nonprofit is helping bring heat to Pine Ridge Reservation, where many residents have been snowed in following recent storms. First Families Now organized a drive-thru giveaway yesterday and handed out heaters and portable fireplaces. Many residents ran out of heating fuel and firewood when the roads were blocked by walls of snow. About 300 cars showed up for the giveaway, which also included coats, boots, shoes, and blankets.
