Sioux Falls Fire Rescue Encourages Residents to Clear Snow from Hydrants

(Sioux Falls, SD) — Officials with Sioux Falls Fire Rescue are urging residents to clear any snow they see from fire hydrants until the roads are cleared. The storm buried most fire hydrants, making it difficult for firefighters to battle any fires that break out. The side of a fire hydrant that faces the street must be cleared all the way to the street. Al other sides of the fire hydrant must have three feet of clearance.
