(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota continues digging out from the storm that dropped several feet of snow across the state and closed schools and businesses. Roads remain covered, although I-90 has been cleared across the state. The final stretch — from Sioux Falls to Mitchell — was reopened yesterday afternoon. Leaders in Sioux Falls say their goal is to have streets reopened by noon today, while city schools will have a two-hour late start today. Mitchell received a total of 23 inches from the storm — with 17-point-two inches falling on Tuesday, the second most all-time for a single day in Mitchell. Sunshine is expected to return to central and western South Dakota today.
