North Dakota 22nd In Lightning Strikes

(Bismarck, ND) — Nearly 200-million lightning strikes hit the United States in 2022 and over three-million of those were in North Dakota. Vaisala X-Weather released weather statistics for 2022 last week and lightning strikes are a critical area of their data. North Dakota dropped two spots to number 22 for the most lightning strikes at three-point-six-million. Texas leads the country with over 27-million strikes followed by Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Mississippi round out the top five.
