(Minneapolis, MN) — Third time was the charm for the Twins in their pursuit of Carlos Correa. The club agreed to a six-year, 200-million dollar contract with the shortstop yesterday. The deal includes vesting and team options for four additional seasons that could make it worth 270-million dollars. Correa originally agreed to deals with both the Giants and then the Mets, but concerns with his physical derailed both agreements. Jon Heyman reported that Correa’s physical with the Twins was conducted yesterday. If he passes the physical, the deal can become official. The two-time All Star hit .291 with 22 home runs and 64 RBI last season.
