(Washington, D.C.) — U.S. Senator Mike Rounds of South Dakota is announcing bipartisan legislation in support of national and tribal veteran cemeteries. The National Cemeteries Preservation and Protection Act of 2022 would expand national cemeteries and offer assistance to tribal veterans’ cemeteries. The VA would pay the plot allowances for Native American vets who were buried on tribal land prior to March 2022. Senator Rounds says “This law is a small way for us to show gratitude to our veterans and their families.”
