(Rapid City, SD) — A criminal charge is being dismissed against a Kyle man who unsuccessfully ran for the state House. A judge dismissed the case against Bud May yesterday. May was charged with second-degree rape after he allegedly forced himself on a victim in a bathroom stall at a bar. The state says the victim in the case didn’t want to cooperate. May says the incident was “simply a hug.” May lost the race in November for one of two House seats in District 27.
