(Pierre, SD) — The South Dakota State House Majority Leader wants to eliminate the option to testify remotely before legislative committees. Representative Will Mortenson announced last week that the House State Affairs committee wouldn’t accept remote testimony anymore. Mortenson chairs the committee and initially encouraged other committee chairs to take the same action. After receiving pushback from other lawmakers, Mortensen announced that his committee would accept remote testimony on a “case by case” basis.
