(Brookings, SD) — South Dakota State University head football coach John Stiegelmeier is retiring. Stiegelmeier announced his retirement yesterday. He has coached the Jackrabbits for 26-years and won nearly 200 games with the team. SDSU claimed its first-ever national championship January 8th and appeared in the postseason 12 times under Stiegelmeier’s leadership. Defensive coordinator Jimmy Rogers will take over as head coach.
