(Huron, SD) — A massive fish kill at a low head dam on the east side of Huron has local and state officials, struggling with how to clean it up. Huron officials say they’ve been told it’s caused by several factors — including low river levels, a lack of oxygen for the fish from the snow cover and rocks added below the dam for safety reasons. Huron officials are waiting to hear from Game, Fish and Parks on what they should do next.
