(Grand Forks, ND) — The proposed Fufeng project in Grand Forks is officially canceled. The city council voted unanimously yesterday to cancel the proposed Chinese-owned corn milling plant due to national security concerns. The decision comes after the U.S. Air Force sent North Dakota U.S. Senator John Hoeven a letter expressing their concerns about the project. The 700-million dollar plant would have been located close to an Air Force base.
