(McKenzie County, ND) — A North Dakota city and county are set to receive federal Department of Transportation road safety funding. The City of Williston was awarded 320-thousand dollars, and McKenzie County will receive just under three-million dollars. The funds can be used to identify high-risk rural roads, recommend low-cost countermeasures, and implement better street lighting. The state says North Dakota has a high number of crashes in rural areas and where no street lights exist.
