(Eagan, MN) — The Vikings are hiring a former Steelers coach as their new defensive coordinator. Minnesota announced yesterday that Brian Flores will be the new DC next season. Flores was the linebackers coach in Pittsburgh last year and was fired from the Dolphins head coaching job after 2021. The new defensive coordinator joins head coach Kevin O’Connell, who played quarterback for the Patriots while Flores was a special teams assistant back in 2008. Flores spent 15 years under Bill Belichick in New England. He replaces former DC Ed Donatell, who was fired after Minnesota ended the season 31st in yards allowed.
