(Helena, MT) — It appears Montana’s minimum wage is not going to increase this year. A bill raising that wage to eleven-39 an hour in the Treasure State failed to pass a House committee in Helena yesterday. The wage will stay at nine-95 an hour. The vote follows a hearing last week, where supporters explained how raising pay would help less fortunate Montanans. Opponents argued most workers making minimum wage also get a considerable amount of money in tips.
