Two South Dakota Gun Law Proposals Fail In Committee

(Pierre, SD) — Two South Dakota gun law proposals have failed in committee. One of the proposals would have held gun owners accountable for not securing guns properly. The other bill was a red flag law proposal that would have allowed courts to take possession of firearms from people who potentially show signs of self-harm or harm to another person. Gun lobbyists say the restrictions would violate the Second Amendment.
