(Helena, MT) — Montana Governor Greg Gianforte is urging lawmakers to pass a bill amending the state’s Commercial Driver’s License laws. The chief executive claimed yesterday not passing the bill would “effectively shut down trucking” in Montana and may lead to the federal government decertifying the state’s CDL program. The measure aims to put the Treasure State’s CDL program in compliance with federal requirements. Gianforte made the comments after more than two dozen senators voted against the legislation earlier this month.
