(Bismarck, ND) — North Dakota lawmakers are considering a measure aimed at keeping wind turbine blades out of landfills. A House bill would add the blades to a list of items prohibited from landfills. The bill is meant to encourage more environmentally-friendly uses for both leftover coal material and wind turbines after a tower is taken offline. Turbine blades are often made from reinforced fiberglass and aren’t easily broken down.
